RB Leipzig have announced the signing of sister club Red Bull Salzburg starlet Yordy Reyna on loan until the end of the season.

The Peruvian international was loaned to SV Grödig for the season, but has been sent to Leipzig after their move for Nils Quaschner was blocked by FIFA.

Reyna can play centrally and on the wings and should be a great addition to the 2. Bundesliga side, who are keen to achieve back-to-back promotions.

The 21-year-old has netted eleven goals in twenty-one games for Grödig, as well as setting six up for his team-mates.

Sporting director Ralf Rangnick had his say on the deal, "Yordy Reyna has recently performed extremely well in Grödig and was one of the most dangerous strikers in the Austrian league."

Rangnick continued, "He scored a total of eleven goals and also contributed six assists at Gröding. We brought him to Salzburg and a year-and-a-half ago and thus he is very familiar with our game philosophy. We are pleased that we were able to fill the last open position in attack with Yordy."

Reyna could make his debut for Leipzig in a local derby against Erzgebirge Aue on February 6th, when the 2. Bundesliga returns from the winter break.
