SC Paderborn 07 have completed the signing of Srđan Lakić from 1.FC Kaiserslautern on a contract until June 2016.

The Bundesliga side, sitting 10th in the league table have enjoyed a fine start to their season, returning to action tomorrow against 1.FSV Mainz 05.

“We are very pleased that the transfer worked out ahead of time and Srđan can already strengthen our squad for the away game in Mainz,” Sporting Director Michael Born told their official website.

The 31-year old arrived to Germany in 2006, joining Hertha Berlin after the World Cup, where he failed to net before securing a loan move to Heracles Almelo.

The Croatian then joined Kaiserslautern where he netted 35 goals in 80 appearances before moving to VfL Wolfsburg. Lakić also spent time on loan at Hoffenheim and Eintracht Frankfurt before returning to Kaiserslautern last summer.

Head coach, André Breitenreiter added: “Srđan is a striker with superb heading ability.”

The targetman has scored on six occasions in 16 appearances in the 2.Bundesliga this season.
