Borussia Dortmund's Jannik Bandowski has joined 2. Bundesliga side 1860 Munich on a long term loan deal.

A sizeable left-back, Bandowski has appeared for Germany's under-20 side and will join up with the Lions on Monday for his first training session.

He was extremely pleased with the move, stating: "It is a huge opportunity that has been offered to me here. I'm really eager to pay back the club's trust as quickly as possible."

That was evident in the length of contract given to the youngster, who joins on a year-and-a-half loan; his contract with BVB runs until 2017, so this is a great chance to prove himself.

Sporting director Gerhard Poschner gave praise to the 20-year-old, "He is a great talent with great potential to develop. Jannik can help us on the left side."

Bandowski could make his debut for the Lions against FC Heidenheim, when the 2. Bundesliga returns next Monday.
