Admir Mehmedi was forced off after 60 minutes in Freiburg's 4-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, with a hat-trick from Nils Petersen.

Earlier today, after scans on the ankle, manager Christian Streich came out and admitted the devastating news: “If everything goes great, he is back again in three weeks," he added. "If not, then it will take up to five weeks.""

Mehmedi will now be required to see a foot clinic on his right foot. The exact diagnosis is that he has damaged ankle ligaments.

With him being out for three to five week he will miss potentially up to six games, including Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, Hertha Berlin, TSG Hoffenheim and possibly Bayer Leverkusen.

He has played fifteen times, scoring just one goal. He’s created thirteen chances, one of those being an assist.
