Eintracht Braunschweig have bolstered their front-line with the signing of promising striker Emil Berggreen.

The Dane has signed a deal until June 2017 and will wear the number nine shirt. Berggreen, 21, has represented Denmark's under-21 side and has scored once. For his former club Hobro IK, he scored three times in seventeen games since moving there in summer 2014.

"Emil is a tall striker, whose profile we are currently missing from the squad. To sign him until 2017 is also a sign that he can play a major role in the new season," said sporting director Marc Arnold.

Berggreen added, "I am very happy to get a chance to play at Eintracht. It is a club with a great tradition and extraordinary fans. Discussions with Torsten Lieberknecht were very good. I am pleased to be in Braunschweig and to train with the team for the first time tomorrow."

He could make his debut this weekend, as the 2. Bundesliga returns from the winter break. It could be a baptism of fire, when Braunschweig lock horns with promotion rivals Kaiserslautern on Sunday.
