A brace from Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben respectively secure another Bundesliga rout for Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich side, just days after their rather lacklustre 0-0 UEFA Champions League Last 16 draw with Ukranian side Shakthar Donetsk

A lovely move from the visitors put them ahead after just 20 minutes. Xabi Alonso played the ball to Robben, whose brilliant chip through towards the path of Lewandowski gave the Polish forward acres of space and time to pick his spot. It was the forward, heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent days, who doubled Bayern's lead; Thomas Muller's effort on goal was blocked, Franck Ribery was alert to cut the ball back into his path to make it 2-0.

It's fair to say that Paderborn were virtually dead and buried by the half-time interval and simply could not handle Bayern's brilliance. The defending champions continued to tear apart the Bundesliga newcomers - making it three soon after the hour mark. Ribery set Robben on his way, before the Dutch winger was cynically brought down by Florian Hartherz with referee Bastian Dankert having no choice but to send the 21-year-old off for an early bath. Robben cooly finished from the spot, despite Kruse guessing the right way as he was unfortunate not to quite reach the effort.

Ribery made it 4-0 in the 72nd minute with an assist from Robben as Paderborn's defenders failed to deal with the resulting cross from the 30-year-old who unleashed the French forward upon the hosts; scoring with a bottom corner finish.

20-year-old substitute Mitchell Weiser made it five for Guardiola's men, at this point the match was well and truly over as a contest and the defending champions were just rubbing salt into the promoted side's wounds. Sebastian Rode's inviting through ball towards him set the youngster one-on-one with Kruse who was completely out of position, allowing the German startlet to cheekily dink the 'keeper from range.

Robben completed the rout with five minutes to play, making it a scintillating six. Ribery did brilliantly on the flank before his inviting cross was heading towards Kruse' gloves, but the Dutchman simply wanted it more and managed to poke the ball home to finish from close range.
