Five points adrift of safety, Stuttgart host a Frankfurt side who are chasing the European qualification places.

The hosts go into the game in disastrous form having not won in their last nine Bundesliga games, a stat that has to change if they are to stand any chance of survival.

Thomas Schaaf's Frankfurt side have won three out of their last six games and currently sit eighth in the table, four points off Augsburg who occupy the last Euorpean qualification place.

The Eagles had an impressive Matchday 25, winning convincingly 4-0 at home to Paderborn and will be keen to replicate that result this weekend. Their away form has been awful recently, with no win in six games on their travels.

Huub Stevens' struggling side have only won once at home in the Bundesliga all season and have only scored six times in those games. This will give the visitors a lot of confidence going into the game, especially with the league's leading scorer, Alexander Meier.

Stevens recognise that his side must be able to deal with Meier: "It's great for the lad, but it's best if we don't let him get the ball," he said.

Instead, Stevens will be hoping his side will be able to feed Martin Harnik, who is back after suspension to lead the Swabians' attack.

In team news, Adam Hlousek and Gotoku Sakai compete for a spot at left-back. Martin Harnik returns from suspension to replace Filip Kostic on the right wing. Other than that, Stevens is not expected to make any changes.

For the visitors, Alexander Madlung could replace the injured Marco Russ at centre-back again, with Anderson remaining on the bench. Takashi Inui and Lucas Piazon compete for a spot on the left wing. Schaaf wont want to make too many changes from last weekend's win.

Possible line-ups:

Vfb Stuttgart:

Eintracht Frankfurt

Trapp, Chandler, Zambrano, Madlung, Oczipka, Aigner, Hasebe, Stendera, Inui, Seferović, Meier
