Borussia Mönchengladbach are set to complete their second signing of the summer in 1. FC Kaiserslautern goalkeeper, Tobias Sippel.

The high flying Foals announced the signing of Hannover captain Lars Stindl in recent weeks and are close to agreeing a pre-contract deal with Sippel whose contract runs out come the end of May, according to Kicker.

Twenty-seven year old Sippel has been an ever present site in the Roten Teufel team appearing in 26 of 27 league matches and one DFB Pokal fixture - before they were eliminated by Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16. In his twenty-eight cumulative appearances he's managed fourteen clean sheets.

The one time U21 European Champion - with Germany in 2009, will no doubt play a deputy role upon his arrival to Yann Sommer who has arguably been the best keeper in the Bundesliga season with continually fine performances.

Sippel's move will raise questions about Christofer Heimeroth at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
