Wolfsburg have apparently signed 27-year-old central defender Gil from Brazilian side Corinthians for €10 million.
The defender, who came through the youth ranks at Americano, will link up with his new Wolfsburg teammates in the summer should the move go through.
Gil, full name Carlos Gilberto Nascimento Silva, is a three time Brazilian international having first been called up in August of 2014. His contract with Corinthians was due to expire in 2018 but details of his deal with Wolfsburg are yet to be disclosed.
This will be Gil's second European adventure having played for French outfit Valenciennes forty-times in a one year stint with the club.
Gil stands at 6ft 4" and played 32 times for Corinthians last term across all competitions. The Brazilian Serie A is due to start in coming weeks and Gil will undoubtedly be a mainstay in the Corinthians side before possibly heading for the Volkswagen Arena in the next few months.
