Team News

Pep Guardiola will be without five key players ahead of Thomas Schaaf’s sides visit. David Alaba (knee ligaments injury), Arjen Robben (stomach muscle tear), (ankle), Mehdi Benatia (unknown, 4 week lay-off), Javi Martinez (cruciate ligament rupture) and Bastian Schweinsteiger (joint capsule tear) with Tony Starke the only other absentee. This could mean a starting place for Holger Badstuber. Also, Mario Götze and Thomas Muller could start behind Der Klassiker goal scorer Robert Lewandowski with Robben and Franck Ribery injured.

Thomas Schaaf arguably will be without three indispensable players in Marco Russ, Carlos Zambrano and Bundesliga top scorer Alex Meier. With Zambrano absent, Bamba Anderson is in-line for his nineteenth appearance of the season.

Pre-match Comments:

Pep Guardiola: "We played okay against Leverkusen, but we didn't have the element of surprise. Frankfurt play good football, are an aggressive team and are good to watch, and in [Marc] Stendera, they have a quality player. I hope the fans help us at the Allianz Arena. We need the support."

Eintracht Frankfurt captain and goalkeeper Kevin Trapp: "We won't be scared going to Munich, we know that Bayern are the team to beat. They have ridiculous quality and even with their injuries, it will be a really difficult game for us. We'll have to give it everything we have to make sure we can put in a decent performance and get a result."
