FC Augsburg have been dealt a blow in their attempts to secure Europa League footall, as Caiuby and Shawn Parker are both set for injury lay-offs.

The defeat to Paderborn was a crushing one; a missed chance to go clear of Hoffenheim and continue to improve upon a quite amazing season, while Caiuby and Parker both picked up injuries.

26-year-old Caiuby joined in the summer from FC Ingolstadt 04 and has shown glimpses of what he's capable of, though he could only manage forty minutes in the game at the Benteler-Arena. The pain in his thigh was too much to bear and it's now known that he will miss the remainder of Augsburg's season.

It was feared that Parker would suffer similar problems to that of his Brazilian team mate, though die Fuggerstädter were handed some slightly better news. The former Mainz man, who missed most of the Hinrunde with a knee injury, will only be out for two weeks due to a muscle problem.
