Bayern Munich will travel to Porto in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League looking for an important away goal but will find it hard as they are facing stern opposition.

The hosts have looked very impressive during this season’s Champions League and will be hoping to shock the away side, who have once again been thoroughly dominant domestically.

In their league, Porto currently reside in second place three points behind Benfica. They are currently eight matches unbeaten and claimed an important 3-1 win against Rio Ave as they attempt to close the gap on Benfica. Bayern on the other hand are riding high in the Bundesliga as they sit at the top of the table with a 10 point advantage over second place Wolfsburg. In their last game they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 as they creep ever closer to another title.

In the last 16 Porto comprehensively beat Basel 5-1 on aggregate. If Porto win it will be their first taste of the semi-final in 11 years after winning the competition under the management of José Mourinho. Bayern though trumped that result as they ripped apart Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk 7-0 on aggregate.

The hosts will be without Cristian Tello (hamstring), Ivan Marcano (suspended) and Jackson Martinez has been rated doubtful with a hamstring injury.

Bayern will be without a host of key men: David Alaba (knee), Robben (stomach), Bastian Schweinsteiger (illness), Franck Ribéry (ankle) Tom  Starke (ankle), Javi Martínez (knee) and Mehdi Benatia (thigh).
