Sporting Lisbon's Rui Patricio is being lined up as a potential successor of Roman Weidenfeller's number one jersey at Dortmund according to reports from O Jogo.

Weidenfeller has spent the past thirteen years inbetween the sticks for the Signal Iduna Park outfit and now thirty-four, Dortmund are on the look out for a successor. 

Patricio has been on the books of Sporting all of his senior career and has over two hundred appearances in the Sporting shirt, furthermore he's been Portugal's number one since 2010.

This season Weidenfeller has kept seven clean sheets in twenty-four Bundesliga games  while Patricio has ten in twenty-eight Primeira Liga outings. 

The twenty-seven year old shot stopper who Sporting say they want "at least €15 million" for according to A Bola is also a target for Premier league club Liverpool. The Merseyside club view Patricio as a successor to Simon Mignolet.
