The German captain has recovered from a bout of flu but the French midfielder remains out with a ankle injury, ahead of Bayern's massive champions league clash against Portuguese side Porto.

Pep Guardiola revealed that he expects Bastian Schweinsteiger to be available for selection against Porto but has said Franck Ribery remains out of action with an ongoing ankle injury and won't play part at the Allianz arena this Tuesday evening.

The Injury stricken Bayern side went down 3-1 in Portugal last week without the likes of David Alaba, Ribery, Arjen Robben, Mehdi Benatia and Javi Martinez. Captain Phillip Lahm is also doubtful to play any part after contracting Gastroenteritis.

"Basti could play, he's in good health again," Guardiola told the club website.

The Catalonian was more cautious about French star Franck Ribery, saying: "Let's wait and see, but I don't think he'll be able to play."

When asked about Juan Bernat's state Guardiola said it was purely a precaution and that he didn't take any risks whilst his side won away to Hoffenheim.
