1. FC Union have signed up their fourth player ahead of the summer transfer window. This time it's St. Pauli midfielder Dennis Daube, who has been given a contract until 2017.

Daube joins Benjamin Kessel, Raffael Korte (both Eintracht Braunschweig) and Stefan Fürstner of SpVgg Greuther Fürth, who have all been recruited by the club for free and preparation for a promotion push in the following years.

The 25 year-old midfielder makes the move east from the Millerntor after eleven years and will now call the Stadion an der Alte Försterei his home. Daube has been crucial to a struggle St. Pauli side, missing just one game and notching up two goals and seven assists.

"Dennis is a robust midfielder with good build-up play, who can always prove dangerous in front of goal with his skill at set pieces," said manager Norbert Düwel. "He's a guy who is willing to take responsibility and manages to entertain players and fans. I look forward to working with him."

Daube also commented on his move, "There is no question that St. Pauli, for who I have played 11 years, is a very special club for me and will remain so. Therefore, at present I must fully focus the remaining games to keep up the team in the division."

He finished off by saying, "Then it's time to prove myself somewhere else and that it will be at Union, I am massively pleased."
