It hasn't been a great season for Hertha BSC this year, although the announcement that Audi have decided to renew its sponsorship deal with them is a big boost.

There is still a year left on the current deal but the German car behemoth has came to the decision that they would renew the sponsorship earlier than expected. Hertha have struggled this season, especially in comparison to the previous campaign, but Pal Dardai's appointment has steered them clear of trouble.

“In a good partnership you don’t run away at the first sign of trouble," said Markus Siebrecht, General Sales Manager for Audi’s East Region. "We are certain that Hertha BSC will be playing an important role in the Bundesliga in the medium and long term."

This was in reference to their relegation in the 2009/10 season, though Hertha bounced straight back up to the Bundesliga. The partnership began in 2006 and, while details have yet to be finalised for the extension, it is expected it will earn the club around the €300,000 mark, per year, again.
