FSV Frankfurt have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Tobias Weis from FC Ingolstadt 04.

Weis, 25, has barely featured for die Schanzer and only has a handful of appearances since joining the club in 2013. The move to Frankfurt will see him get some much needed game time and has been handed a contract until 2018.

He will replace current first choice goalkeeper Patrick Klandt, who will definitely leave the club this summer after failing to agree a new deal. His destination is not yet clear, although 1. FC Kaiserslautern and city rivals Eintracht Frankfurt have emerged as early favourites.

Weis was pleased to have earned a new start in Germany's second tier, "FSV Frankfurt have given me the chance to take the next step in my development and to prove myself in the 2. Bundesliga."

FSV Frankfurt's managing director Uwe Stöver added, "Since his first appearance in the 3. Liga with TuS Koblenz, I have followed Andre Weis' development. We are very happy, that we have signed a very good goalkeeper."
