In a very poor match at the Espirit Arena, Fortuna Düsseldorf equalized early in the second half to scrape out a 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened club 1860 München.

The game started out very poorly with both sides unable to get anything going as the passes were not crisp enough. After 14 minutes had eclipsed Bandowski looked like he had gotten into a good position on the pitch down the left hand flank, unfortunately, it was a weak hit and Rensing picked the ball out of the air very comfortably. It took 32 minutes for the first real chance of the match to happen and that came to the hosts. Vitus Eicher could not get a good clearance away with Joel Pohjanpalo closing him down quickly and the ball fell too Ihlas Bebou. Fortunately for 1860, Bebou's shot just barely missed the frame of the goal.

After much of the first half was very poor, there came a goal in the 42nd minute, seemingly out of nowhere. Marius Wolf flew down the right hand flank and sent a ball back towards the box where Daniel Adlung redirected the ball with his head into the back of the net. Shortly after the restart, Fortuna Düsseldorf got the equalizing goal in stunning fashion. Ben Halloran and Michael Liendl exchanged a quick one-two and from fifteen yards away, Liendl curled a beautiful shot past Eicher as he was rooted to the spot.

This result leaves Fortuna Düsseldorf in the seventh position in the 2. Bundesliga table. Meanwhile 1860 München will be happy with the draw, although they probably would feel as though they could have held onto the lead, are two points above the relegation play off spot for the time being.
