It's been an impervious season for Norbert Meier's men, as a return to the 2. Bundesliga looks on the cards for the side from East Westphalia; after last seasons dramatic demise at the hands of SV Darmstadt 98.  But the Schüco Arena side's biggest exploits this campaign have come in form of the DFB Pokal; having defeated Hertha BSC, Werder Bremen and most recently Borussia Mönchengladbach on penalties, on route to the Semi Final. All three victories having come on home turf. A victory on the night would see die Arminen reach their first ever DFB Pokal final and an opportunity to win again their first ever major honour.

die Wölfe are coming into the game on the back of handing Bayern Munich their 25th Meisterschale, after a 1-0 defeat the hands of Borussia Mönchengladbach. Dieter Hecking's side also crashed out of the Europa League, at the hands of SSC Napoli; so Norbert Meier's men will be full of confidence heading into the encounter. A victory against die Arminen would send Wolfsburg into their first DFB Pokal final since 1995, where they lost out to a Steffan Effenberg inspired Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Norbert Meier will be without a trio of players; through a mixture of suspension and injuries. Peer Kluge will miss the game with a hip problem, Jonas Strifler is suffering from a ruptured cruciate ligament and Felix Bursmeister will be out with a mixture of a red card suspension and the flu. Manuel Junglas, Fabian Klos and Sebastian Schuppan, who have scored a combined six goals in the rounds previous will both available for Meier.

die Arminen are widely expected to line up in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation; with Fabian Klos leading the line behind the trio of Dennis Mast, Christoph Heimlein and one of Christian Müller or David Ulm; the Frenchman who was signed from SV Sandhausen in the summer has been in fine form as of late, scoring twice in the weekends 4-0 victory at Rot-Weiß Erfurt.

Dieter Hecking travels with a full strength side, bar long term absentee Felipe, for the game at the Schüco Arena. One of Bas Dost or Nicklas Bendtner will start the game upfront; neither striker has been in good form as of late, with one goal between the pair since mid March. Infact, Bas Dost is without a goal since the end of his superb goal scoring run, the last two coming in the 5-3 win at Werder Bremen on the 1st of March.

Joshua Guilavogui will more than likely partner Luiz Gustavo in the heart of midfield, the Frenchman started on the bench in Sunday's defeat at Borussia Park. Luiz Gustavo has been at the centre of VfL Wolfsburg's attacking threats this year in the DFB Pokal, having scored two goals in the side from Lower Saxony's run to the Semi Final. Daniel Caligiuri has also scored twice and will probably start the game, after a recent run of starts in Dieter Hecking's starting eleven.
