1.FSV Mainz have today announced that they have agreed a contract extension with midfielder Yunus Malli until 2018.
Speaking about his new deal, Malli said: "I am sure that under coach Martin Schmidt and in this club I can take the next steps.
"I am happy that there is now clarity over my future and look forward to a successful future together with Mainz."
Manager Christian Heidel was also pleased that the club have managed to keep Malli at the club despite interest from several clubs. "We are convinced that he can still continue to develop his skills and delighted that he continues to stay with us."
The club announced the news on Twitter this afternoon.
Malli has appeared 77 times in the Bundesliga with Mainz, scoring 12 goals in the process. Mainz are currently 12th in the Bundesliga with two games remaining against 1.FC Köln at home and away to champions Bayern Munich.
