At the Olympistadion in Berlin, Germany, the home club, Hertha BSC will have to be at their absolute best in their remaining two matches if they want to avoid relegation and their first task will be getting by a stingy Frankfurt side.

A win today against Frankfurt would pretty much secure another season in the Bundesliga for the capital club as that would give them a little breathing room heading into the final week of the season. However, they have a bit of work to do as they have lost three straight consecutive matches and they have not won three full points since the fifth of May. In that match, against lowly Paderborn, they took until the 68th minute to open up the scoring despite dominating possession up until that point.

Recently, however, they have come up against tough opposition in Bayern Munich, Borussia M'gladbach, and Borussia Dortmund consecutively. To end this season, they will be taking on much easier opposition. This does not mean that they can relax and simply kick the ball around the pitch. No, Hertha will have to be at their absolute best because if they slip up even a little, they could find themselves back down in the relegation zone fighting for survival. Salomon Kalou needs to step up in front of goal if Hertha are hoping for three points. He has been playing more with some key injuries in the HBSC squad, but he absolutely has to be more clinical.

For Frankfurt, their objective for this season has been met. The visiting club for this afternoon is currently sitting in the eleventh spot with no hopees of European football, but it is a very respectable position for the club. Unfortunately, it looked like Frankfurt had the chance of getting a spot in the Europa League but a tough run of form really dropped them out of that race. During that stretch, they dropped points in six consecutive matches and only two of those were draws. The only possible reward for Die Adler now is a top half finish should results go their way.

In their last match out against Hoffenheim, Thomas Schaaf's outfit played very well scoring three excellently taken first half goals. Even without leading goal scorer Alexander Meier, the side looked like it wanted to go out and prove to the league that they were not a one man show. Bastian Oczipka opened up the scoring in the scoring in the 18th minute. Nine minutes later, Haris Seferović would double the lead with a very fine finish and finally, American Timmy Chandler would get his sides third and final goal a mere seven minutes after the Swiss international striker.
