FC Augsburg can secure a place in the Europa League with a win at home to Hannover 96, whilst a win for the visitors will help in their bid for survival.

The Bavarians go into the penultimate round of matches sitting in fifth place in the Bundesliga and potentially 90 minutes away from securing a place in the Europa League.

Speaking ahead of the game manager Markus Weinzierl said: "No matter what happens, we are going to end the season in the top half of the table and this makes it a good season for Augsburg, but we want to turn a good season into a sensational one.''

Hannover currently sit in 16th place, level on points with 15th placed SC Freiburg. A win for Michael Frontzeck's side could see them rise to 13th should results go their way.

In team news, Jeong-Ho Hong will start in place of Ingwer Callsen-Bracker at centre-back again. Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg and Markus Feulner compete for a spot in midfield and Tobias Werner returns from injury to play on the left wing.

For the visitors, Lars Stindl will most likely play on the right wing again, with Hiroshi Kiyotake filling in in the centre. Jimmy Briand, Joselu and Didier Ya Konan compete for a spot up front. Otherwise, manager Michael Frontzeck is not expected to make any changes.

Frontzeck's side haven't won a Bundesliga game for 16 matches, a stat that will have to change if they are to remain in the first division. They will also have to tighten up their defence, having conceded at least two goals in their last four away matches.

Frontzeck is in good spirits going into the game: "Given the way we've played at times in our recent games, we can be optimistic. And then we also need that little bit of luck which perhaps we've been lacking in recent weeks.'' He said.

Augsburg will go into the game full of confidence after their fantastic 1-0 victory away at Bayern Munich last weekend.

Hannover face a tough task but they will be fired up for the occasion as they aim to keep their place in the league.
