1. FC Nürnberg look set to extend Czech defender Ondrej Celutska's current deal past 2016, according to reports coming out of Germany.

Twenty-five year old Celutska joined Nürnberg last summer from Turkish side Trabzonspor and penned a deal until 2016 with an option to extend, it is believed both parties will activate this.

Der Altmeister have already begun preparations ahead of next season in order to avoid a third successive season in the second tier following relegation from the Bundesliga in 2013-14. Nürnberg were expected to be there or there about in terms of promotion but with just four wins in the rückrunde the club slipped down the table and now find themselves in tenth place with a game to go.

While Celutska looks to be staying put for the foreseeable future, the club will not choose to extend Peniel Mlapa's loan for a further season after a poor return of just three goals in twenty-four appearances. Also expected to leave the club is twenty-five year old midfielder Adrian Nikci who has found first team opportunities very limited. Lastly, Nürnberg confirmed that youngster Manuel Bihr had left the club and signed for 3. Liga's Stuttgarter Kickers
