Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of young goalkeeper Hendrik Bonmann until 2018.

The 21-year-old has been playing for the under-23 team as well as BVB II. Bonmann signed from Rot-Weiss Essen in 2013.

Talking about his new deal, Bonmann said: "The fact that the BVB further plans with me and gives confidence, makes me incredibly proud. I'm going to do everything I can to repay them."

Dortmund currently have Roman Weidenfeller and Mitchell Langerak as their two first team 'keepers so chances are hard to come by but with Weidenfeller at age 34, Bonmann will be looking to force his way in to the thoughts of the first team coaches.

Bonmann, however, will most likely be behind Zlatan Alomerovic in the wait for the first team call up, but will be hoping to make more appearances for the 3.Liga side having made seven appearances this season.
