FC Schalke 04 representatives allegedly met with Ludogorets Razgrad defender Junior Caicara at the weekend over a potential summer switch, according to BILD.

The twenty-six-year-old full-back, who can play at either side made a total forty-three appearances over the course of last season in all competitions and popped up with nine assists. Caicara is contracted to the Ludogorets Arena outfit until 2017 and won't come cheap with some sources quoting around about £5million pounds for his services.

Brazilian-born Caicara has been with the Bulgarian outfit since the summer of 2012 and has also been heavily linked with a move to Russian Premier league side FK Krasnodar recently.

Fellow Bundesliga sides Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen are said to have shown slight interest in the player who forms part of the strong Brazilian contingent at the club. Roma, FC Porto and recently crowned Portuguese champions Benfica are all also said to be eyeing him up.

Ludogorets recently secured their fourth consecutive Bulgarian A Grupa title in their short five year existence.
