Germany under-21 coach Horst Hrubesch has announced his preliminary 28-man squad for the upcoming European U-21 Championship in the Czech Republic.

Hrubesch's side included the likes of Liverpool’s Emre Can, Barcelona’s Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and World Cup Winner Matthias Ginter.

Also included in his selection is Arsenal’s Serge Gnabry, Hoffenheim attacker Kevin Volland as well as Schalke hopefuls Max Meyer and Leon Goretzka, who will be returning following lengthy injury-related absences.

"We have unbelievable talent in our squad," Hrubesch told the official DFB website.

Germany will head into a training camp on June 2, with all players but ter Stegen who is set to play in the Champions League final against Juventus in Berlin on June 2, he will be joining up after the illustrious final.

Germany ran out winners of the tournament in 2009, in this tournament they have been drawn alongside the host, Denmark and Serbia. The Tournament starts on June 17 before concluding at the end of the month.
