1860 München coach Torsten Fröhling confirmed, on Thursday, that Julian Weigl will join Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The 19-year-old, who was recently selected for Germany's under-20 World Cup squad, had been rumoured to be on BVB's radar since January.

Initially, reports suggested that he would only join if he was relegated with 1860 - who could still go down if they lose the play-off with Holstein Kiel.

In a press conference be for the two fixtures, Fröhling said: "For Ju Weigl, the move is to Dortmund a great thing that he can play at such a great club next year. But for me, it has no major impact."

Weigl has been with the Lions since 2010 and is expected join Dortmund for €2.5million, leaving Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur empty handed. The fee is rumoured to be around the aforementioned number, though official confirmation from either BVB or 1860 has not yet arrived.
