Hannover 96 announced, on Thursday, that the contracts of Dirk Dufner and Michael Frontzeck had been extended until 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Frontzeck led Hannover to safety and their first wins of 2015 in his short time in charge. In his five games at the helm, he lost once before going on to draw twice and then beat FC Augsburg and SC Freiburg to avoid the drop by three points.

"Michael Frontzeck has done very successful work. That's why we want to continue working with him," admitted long-standing club president Martin Kind. "He has focused and motivated the team and outstandingly, he embodies enthusiasm and ambition."

Dirk Dufner, sporting director at the Lower Saxony side, will now enter his third season at the club. Jan-Moritz Lichte will also continue in his role as assitant manager. "The forthcoming decisions on the composition of the team now have top priority," said Kind.
