Swansea City are interested in 24-year old Stuttgart Midfielder Alexandru Maxim.

The Romanian was previously linked with a move to Wales in January but the transfer failed to materialise. Nevertheless, his agent Herbert Briem says the club are still eager to sign.

However, Maxim is uncertain whether he will depart the Mercedez-Benz Arena for the Liberty Stadium. He is set to hold talks with new manager Alexander Zorniger, who replaced Huub Stevens, in the coming games.

2014-15 season was one to forget for Maxim. He managed to find the net just twice in twenty-six appearances for Die Schwaben, last term but he failed to make an impact.

Maxim joined the German side for €1.5m on a four-and-a-half year deal after spells with Espanyol and Romanian side CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu. Maxim isn’t unknown to success, in 2013 the Romanian was Runner-Up in the DFB Pokal and the Runner Up in the Romanian Footballer of the Year award, that same year.

For Stuttgart he made his debut in the round of 32 of the Europa League against Genk and then nine days later making debut against FC Nürnberg. He made his debut for the Romanian national team in 2012.

Maxim is certainly one to look out for in the Bundesliga or the Premier League whether he decides to sign for Garry Monk’s side, he is a speedy attacking midfielder who is commonly played in the centre playmaking role. In that position, he made 13 appearances scoring one goal and assisting four times.
