Relegated SC Freiburg have made their third signing in Vincenzo Grifo ahead of their 2015/16 season in the 2.Bundesliga.

Signing from TSG Hoffenheim 1899, Grifo, 22, spent the season on loan at FSV Frankfurt where he made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals in the process.

“It was a very easy decision [to sign]. I’ve heard many good things about SC Freiburg, above all the [approach with] youth,” said Grifo.

“I had positive feelings from the first contact and later conversations with Christian Streich only confirmed those feelings.” Grifo added: “He told me clearly outlining where he sees my strengths and what role I play in his plans”

“Football is my life, I love everything about the sport. I will work hard so that we can meet these demands and we can ensure together that Freiburg can get back to where it belongs, in my opinion I the Bundesliga.”

The move has seen Jonathan Schmid depart the club for Hoffenheim, whilst Grifo is Freiburg’s third signing alongside Tim Kleindienst and Lukas Kübler
