The contract of Hamburger SV captain, Rafael van der Vaart, expires this summer. A few clubs are interested in him, but which club will sign him up?

The best chances of securing his signature are with Real Betis, according to Spanish media outlet, "AS". The promoted team, who won the title in the Segunda Divison, are extremely interested in him.

Van der Vaart would fulfil a dream, if he were to join Betis - as he could play football near the home of his mother, who is living in Chiclana.

Negotiations about a deal are under way. Real Betis are trying everything to sign the play maker, but the wage of van der Vaart could be the deal's stumbling block.

The "maestro" earns about 3,5 million euros per year at Hamburg, but he would take a pay cut to join Betis.

There are many other clubs that are interested in the ex-Netherlands international, such as Besiktas, Malaga and Celtic.

A few days ago, van der Vaart's agent denied a transfer to Ajax Amsterdam - the club at which "Rafa" started his career.

The Dutchman has played for at Hamburg for a total seven years, enjoying his time Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur in between his two spells in the north.

He will definitely return to HSV after his professional career, with rumours circulating that he will become a youth coach.

However, for now, the chapter at Hamburger SV has come to an end.
