After his strong two years at AC Milan, who qualified for the Champions League quarter-final in 2011-12, Kevin-Prince Boateng returned to Germany in 2013.

Schalke paid a fee of €10m for the Ghanaian international, who failed at Borussia Dortmund years before.

Boateng was Schalke's bearer of hope, but now he seems to be their weak point. Boateng was released by Schalke 04 and is seeking now seeking a new club.

The 28-year-old also wants to get a compensation as he's unhappy with the sacking, Bild reported weeks ago. In 2013, Boateng signed a contract until 2016 that ensured him to get €5m salary a year, but that was also very performance-related.

Boateng, who posted photos on Instagram showing him at an amusement park during important Schalke matches, also wants to leave as a free agent. According to various media reports, Lazio Roma and other Italian sides were interested in signing him.

But now it's seems like Boateng attracts the interest of Turkish champions Galatasaray.

The Istanbul club held talks with the agent of the native from Berlin, during the Champions League final, Gazzetta dello Sport reports. The parties reached an agreement in principle and Galatasaray are showing interested in signing the 28-year-old.

As matters stand, Boateng asked after a few days thinking time and will probably give the Turks a positive answer soon. It remains to be seen, if the Royal Blues let him go on a free transfer.
