2015/16 DFB-Pokal draw: Wolfsburg begin defence against Stuttgarter Kickers

The German Cup threw up some absolutely fantastic ties, as well as pitting some of the minnows against the Bundesliga's big boys.

Reigning champions, VfL Wolfsburg, will take on Stuttgarter Kickers - in what could prove a banana skin for Dieter Hecking's side.

In two of the most interesting match-ups, at least geographically, Westphalian clubs will be involved.

MSV Duisburg will take on FC Schalke 04, which is also a Ruhr derby. Given the recent form of Duisburg, they will be hopeful of springing a surprise.

Rot-Weiss Essen and Fortuna Düsseldorf will go toe-to-toe with each other, in another local clash.

For the big guns, Borussia Dortmund have been handed a tricky trip to Chemnitz, while Bayern München travel to rank outsiders, fifth division side FC Nöttingen.

Arminia Bielefeld - Hertha BSC was a last sixteen tie this year, and the former will be hoping for a similar cup run.

FC St. Pauli - Borussia Mönchengladbach will pit two historically rich sides against each other and the 2. Bundesliga side will be hoping to pull out a big shock.
