It is clear for a while, that Hamburger SV and Valon Behrami don’t work together, and the rumours about a comeback in Italy are getting specific.

Both sides are interested in a break-up, because the new coach, Bruno Labbadia, is not planning on using the defensive midfielder.

HSV paid €6m last season for the aggressive-leader, but because of their financial situation, Hamburg want to sell Behrami for a transfer fee about €5m.

The player would also be very happy, if he could leave Hamburg after only one season, after Behrami suffered a torrid time in Germany, "Hamburg will still be a negative experience for me," before stating that "only his Germany got better."

He added, that "he's not Cristiano Ronaldo, but he thought that he could change something in this club."

A club that is interested in the 30-year old player, is his old club Napoli. To an italian radio station, he said that: "he forgot his heart in Napoli and he couldn't reject a call from Aurelio De Laurentiis," the club boss of SSC Napoli.

Almost every fan was pleased about Behrami’s move last season, but the midfielder himself was just an obstacle for the Bundesliga side.

Life in Hamburg

His first matches for the 'Rothosen' were stunning. He did exactly what Hamburg had expected from him.

Controlling the midfield with an aggressive touch and leading the team, one of Behrami's better matches was against champions, Bayern Munich. His overall positional play was exceptional, as was his ability to win the ball back, whilst making commanding tackles.

It was all downhill for Behrami

However, Hamburg's fight against relegation, resulted in poor performances from the Switzerland international. Becoming more and more to the scapegoat, Behrami lost the confidence of his team mates, the fans and especially the coache's. Joe Zinnbauer liked him a lot, but after Zinnbauer got sacked and Labbadia took over the reigns, the midfielder didn't get one application after his red card against Werder Bremen in the very important 'Nordderby'.

Another bad headline for him was the pretend fight with Johan Djourou in Hamburg's changing-room in the half time against VfL Wolfsburg.
