Some pre-season action has been taking place today, with both Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga sides involved.

Eintracht Braunschweig surprised everyone with a decent result against the Ukrainian champions, 1. FC Kaiserslautern scored eight goals against fourth division side Kickers Offenbach. For 1. FC Köln and FC Augsburg, they both recorded easy wins against smaller teams.

Eintracht Braunschweig 2-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

In their training camp in Mittersill, Austria, the Braunschweig Lions played a high-profile friendly game against the Ukrainian champions and UEFA Champions League round of sixteen participants, Shakhtar Donetsk.

Thanks to goals from Phil Ofosu-Ayeh  in the 37th minute and Julis Düker in the 67th, Eintracht surprisingly won 2-1. Vasyl Kobin scored for Donetsk late on, but it was nothing more than a consolation.

1. FC Kaiserslautern 8-0 Kickers Offenbach

The Rote Teufel won a test match against Regionalliga side Kickers Offenbach, with an impressive 8-0 score-line.

Maurice Deville (brace), Andre Formitschow, Stefan Mugosa, Mateusz Klich, Lukas Görtler, Erik Wekesser and Ruben Yttergård Jenssen (penalty) netted for Kaiserslautern.

After two goals in the first ten minutes, the score remained 2-0 at up to half-time. The second half was far better, with six goals scored by FCK.

SV Oberwart 2-11 1. FC Köln

The Geißböcke were victorious in their training camp in Burgenland, Austria, with a huge 11-2 win against local club SV Oberwart.

Both new striker signings, Anthony Modeste (coming from Hoffenheim) and Phillip Hosiner (from Rennes in France) scored twice, Norwegian youngster Bard Finne also contributed two goals.

Furthermore, Simon Zoller, Yannick Gerhardt, Marcel Hartel (who normally plays for the Köln youth), Kevin Vogt and Kazuki Nagasawa scored for the effzeh.

For Oberwart, Ante Golenja and Franz Weber got themselves on the score-sheet.

TSV Zusmarshausen 1-11 FC Augsburg

UEFA Europa League participant FC Augsburg also claimed a win against local club TSV Zusmarshausen, triumphing 11-1.

Tobias Werner scored twice, while Halil Altintop and Sascha Mölders both scored hat-tricks.

Alexander Esswein, Tim Matavz and David Spies added to the score-line, and Yildiz scored the consolation goal for Zusmarshausen in the 88th minute.
