Adrian Ramos is making good progress in his recovery from injury, according to Kicker.

The striker had problems with his ankle all through the 2014-15 season, with it restricting him to just 18 appearances in the league as his side, Borussia Dortmund, finished in an underwhelming seventh place.

However, he is now recovering well, with him coming back much quicker than the club predicted.

Sporting director Michael Zorc said that Ramos made a "good impression" at training this week and has come back "faster than expected." The Colombian international trained on his own, but looked in good shape and comfortable on the pitch, even able to run quite quickly on the problem area.

Despite a disappointing first season with Dortmund, Zorc is convinced that Ramos will be a success, saying that "otherwise [the club] would not have signed him in 2014." New coach Thomas Tuchel is expected to work well with the player too, as he is a huge fan having tried to sign the striker when manager of FSV Mainz 05 three years ago.

Ramos failed to replicate his form from Hertha

Ramos scored two Bundesliga goals in 18 games this season, and six goals in all competitions. However, he will be hoping to come back well from his injury as he looks to hit the form he produced at Hertha BSC, where he scored 68 goals in 157 league matches to earn a move to his current club.

Kevin Grosskreutz, who recently had knee surgery, has also trained alone this week and looks to be making good strides towards his recovery as the team got back together for pre-season.

Dortmund take on VfL Rhede in their first pre-season match tomorrow, July 3, before their tour of Asia begins two days later. During this, they will face Kawasaki Frontale of Japan on July 7 and Johor Southern Tigers of Malaysia on July 9. Another fixture back in Germany will take place on July 17 against VfL Bochum before friendlies against FC Luzern and Juventus.

The club's season begins on July 30 as they play their first competitive match in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The draw for this round will be made on July 17.
