Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp is on the verge of completing a move to French giants, Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year old will reportedly undergo a medical on Monday ahead of the proposed move that is supposedly priced around €9 million. Trapp is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions as they aim to add some much needed depth to their squad.

PSG's interest in the German keeper is due to a lack of competition for their current first choice, Salvatore Sirigu. A below-par 2014/15 campaign for Sirigu means he must be put under pressure to perform next season or face being relegated to second choice.

Trapp leaves Kaiserslautern

Trapp signed for Eintracht Frankfurt in 2012 from fellow German side Kaiserslautern, making 66 appearances, and has grabbed the attention of many in his performances with the Bundesliga side. The German told BILD that "it is really difficult" to leave Frankfurt while the club's chairman, Heribert Bruchhagen, said, "the sooner we reach an agreement, the sooner we can replace him."

The deal would mark Frankfurt's biggest ever transfer and would leave the club in search of a new goalkeeper ahead of the new season. Trapp is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga and losing him would be a huge blow to the team. The quest to find a new man between the sticks won't be easy for the side that finished ninth last season.

Armin Veh, Frankfurt's manager, told Kicker, "If Kevin Trapp goes we will bring in a goalkeeper. There are many good goalkeepers, but they are under contract."

The switch could hinder Trapp's chances of consistent first-team football but the chance to win trophies and compete in Europe seems too good to ignore. With the signing, PSG now have themselves two very good goalkeepers to rotate in between competitions.
