On Wednesday, Hannover 96 confirmed the arrival of FC Nordsjaelland striker Uffe Bech.

The Denmark under-21 international, who has recently returned from the 2015 UEFA under-21 European Championship, has signed a four-year deal.

Bech, 22, appeared for the full national team three times. With his former club Nordsjaelland, he netted 14 times in 43 games. According to transfermarkt, the fee is in the €2m region.

A much needed signing

This seems to be the first step to filling in for the lack of strikers within the Lower Saxony side's ranks. Joselu, Jimmy Briand and Didier Ya Konan have all moved on, so it is imperative that they replenish the centre-forward position.

They are looking to freshen up the squad with some young talent, and Moussa Konaté is also on their radar. The FC Sion forward had an electric season and has begun to attract the interest of Europe's big leagues. Charliston Benschop has already joined from Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Bech eager to get started with Hannover

"I am really looking forward to the Bundesliga challenge and am now looking forward to getting to know my new teammates," said Bech. Speaking to the official club website, he also added that he was happy to be playing with fellow Dane Leon Andreasen, "I'm very motivated to come to Hannover 96."

Sporting director Dirk Dufner described Bech as a "highly gifted attacking player who has a lot of pace". He also said that his impressive performances in recent months had alerted many clubs to his talents. Dufner also said, "We are very pleased that he sees his future at Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga."

Michael Frontzeck, Hannover head coach, had the final words: "Uffe Bech has our confidence to assert himself in the Bundesliga. With his pace, he fits our requirements as a young player who can develp in our attack."

Bech has been handed the number 17 with his new club.
