Nikola Đurđić has joined Malmo FF on loan until January, the club have confirmed.

The striker makes the switch from Bundesliga club FC Augsburg, who he joined last summer from German second tier side SpVgg Greuther Furth, but he has failed to impress in the top flight and has thus opted for a move away from the club temporarily to regain his confidence and success in front of goal.

Đurđić believes he can add to Malmo's attack

Speaking to Malmo's official website following his move to the club, Đurđić said he believes he has "gained experience during [his] time in Germany," especially in a "tactical" sense, and that his time in the country has allowed him to "become more discplined as a football player."

The Serbian international said the fans can look forward to his performances as he is "a warrior who constantly fights" whilst approaching games very "offensively and aggressively." Đurđić also described himself as the type of player who finds himself in the right areas to be on the end of "good scoring opportunities" and added that he "hope[s] to take advantage of the chances of getting the fans to smile."

Sporting director happy with signing

Former player, coach and now sporting director at Malmo, Daniel Andersson, spoke to the club's website about their new signing too, calling Đurđić a "talented footballer" who, he believes, will "bring the qualities that [the team] need."

Andersson added to this, describing the 29-year-old as a player who "is clever and works very hard," as well as him being a "good forward player and a good finisher inside the box."

Đurđić looking to rediscover golden touch

Despite a poor season last time out with Augsburg, during which he scored just one goal in 17 apperances in all competitions, Đurđić has been a reliable goal-scorer throughout the majority of his career.

He started his career with Serbian side Vozdovac, scoring 11 goals in his first senior season, the 2006-07 campaign, as a 20-year-old. He moved to Norway with Haugesund in 2009, and left with an impressive record of 57 goals in 109 games for the club to move to Helsingborgs IF, another Swedish outfit.

He spent only half a season with them, scoring 14 goals in 19 games, before being snapped up by SpVgg Greuther Furth in January 2013. A strong season in the Bundesliga and then another in the 2. Bundesliga convinced Augsburg to purchase the Serbian international, who earned his sole senior cap in February 2013, but the risk has not paid off as of yet and thus they will hope he can rediscover his good form whilst in Sweden with Malmo.

Đurđić will wear the number 28 shirt for his temporary club before leaving in January.
