Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have agreed a deal with Juventus to bring midfielder Arturo Vidal to the Allianz Arena.

Juve’s general director Giuseppe Marotta revealed the Chilean had asked to leave the club this week and is fully expected to complete his medical in Munich at the weekend, in deal that is reportedly worth up to £26million.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge announced the deal: "I can fundamentally confirm that we have reached an agreement with both parties, Juventus and the player.”

Rummenigge went onto highlight what still needed to be done, saying all that is missing "is the medical and the signatures on the contract.”

A second stint in Germany is set to begin

Vidal has played for Juventus 171 times in total, with 48 goals to his name since his move from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011. He proved a huge success at the Juventus Stadium, winning four Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana’s, one Coppa Italia and one Champions League final runners-up medal during his four stint.

The 28-year-old was a focal point in the Chile side that won their first Copa America title - despite the controversy surrounding him - he proved vital on their journey to the victory, even being named man of the match in the final against Argentina.

Plenty of movement in Turin

If the deal is to go through, Vidal would become Juve’s fourth departure and their second from the midfield - with legendary middle man Andre Pirlo leaving for MLS side New York City FC. Striker Carlos Tevez and defender Angelo Ogbonna have also left for Boca Juniors and West Ham United, respectively.

Despite the amount of departures, Juventus’ recruitment drive has been massive with Guido Vadala, Simone Zaza, Alberto Cerri, Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala, Sami Khedira, Roberto Pereyra and Norberto Neto all making the move to Turin.

However, there could still be one big departure. French midfielder Paul Pogba is still heavily linked with a move away to Barcelona and Manchester City, who are reported as the front-runners for his signature.
