RB Leipzig start their home campaign against Stefan Ruthenbeck's Greuther Fürth, on Monday, in matchday two of the 2. Bundesliga. Leipzig will be hoping to achieve a result like they did at the end of the last campaign, where the hosts won 2-0 at the Red Bull Arena - in what was Achim Beierlorzer's last game in charge of the club.

New manager and former sporting director at the club, Ralf Rangnick, takes charge of his first game at home and will certainly be hoping for a win to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

A win on matchday one

Leipzig won, but didn't impress in Frankfurt on matchday one. They won 1-0 against FSV Frankfurt where Marcel Sabitzer scored the only goal. Back from his loan spell at sister club Red Bull Salzburg, where he score 18 goals in 31 appearances for the Austrian champions.

The attacker became pivotal to the Red Bull-backed side, helping them win the league. He has already made his mark for Leipzig on his first outing for the club. Whether he can maintain that form across the season, like he did last term, remains to be seen.

A good start for SGF

Stefan Ruthenbeck's side made a superb start to the new campaign beating last season's promotion play-off losers Karlsruher SC 1-0, in what was also his first game in charge. Karlsruhe are one of the early favourites to return to the Bundesliga for the first time since 1998. Meaning the result was a fantastic one for the hosts and bodes well for a possible promotion challenge, in a bid to return to the big time.

The 'Shamrocks' grabbed a deserved goal in the 89th minute, when Marco Stiepermann fired his shot into the floor, through the legs of Martin Stoll and into the bottom corner. Fürth dominated large spells against Karlsruhe and will be keen to show the Bulls what they can do, and ,ake their mark on the new campaign.

Test for both sides

The pair won on matchday one, which means they both boast a unbeaten record but both may have to step up to beat one another. It may be another good night for the defences as Leipzig and Fürth recorded just two shots on target during their previous outings.

Both teams will certainly have to find their shooting boots if they're going to take the three points at the Red Bull Arena. Luckily for them, they didn't succumb to losing points last Saturday, despite very few attempts on goal.

Key players

RB Leipzig: Yussuf Poulsen and Marcel Sabitzer. The forwards, both 21 years old, possess pace and power in abundance. Poulsen's finishing and agility worries defenders, which creates opportunities for himself and his team. 12 goals last season are surely only a sign of things to come.

Sabitzer, as previously mentioned, inspired Salzburg to become champions with his impressive goal tally in Austria. He's already shown what he's capable of in matchday one, he may just be the match winner once again.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth: Veton Berisha scored 11 in 14 games last year in the Tippeligaen, which is an impeccable record. He is yet to be appear in the 2. Bundesliga but has proven he can score goals.

Benedikt Röcker, played every single game last season and didn't miss a minute, keeping seven clean sheets in that time. A good performance from Röcker and he will help his side keep Leipzig at bay.

Referee

Daniel Siebert: Siebert is an experienced referee in the 2. Bundesliga and has even took control in a handful of Bundesliga games over the last three years. He recently took charge of Celtic's 2-0 win against UMF Stjarnan in a Champions League qualifier

Last season, Siebert overseen 16 matches in Germany's top two leagues, issuing 58 yellow cards and one straight red. That boils down to an average of 3.68 cards issued per game, which is quite leniant in comparison to the other referees in the divisions.

Team news

There are no fresh injury concerns for Leipzig ahead of matchday two. Terrence Boyd is the only man on the injury list, continuing from last season.

As for Greuther Fürth, Zhi Gin Lam is ruled out of the clash due to an injury sustained in matchday one against Karlsruhe. He was substituted just before half time. He is expected to be the only change made by Ruthenbeck on Monday night.
