In a summer where Antonio Mirko Colak's future has been the topic of much discussion at various clubs, it looks like he is now set for 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

After a successful loan spell with Lechia Gdansk last season, where he netted 10 times in 30 games, Colak seemed ready to complete a permanent move to the Polish club from 1. FC Nürnberg. Everything in relation to the deal was seemingly set, although a bizarre turn of events saw him in limbo between the two teams. The Croat didn't want a move back to Poland, although he also wasn't keen on remaining with the Frankenstadion outfit.

An odd ending to an odd saga

Then, perhaps in the strangest part of the saga, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim ended any further speculation by snapping him up - for a fee believed to be in the region of €500,000 (transfermarkt). First-team football isn't on the agenda for the 21-year-old in Sinsheim, this season at least, so he seems set to be loaned out for the during of the 2015-16 season.

"We are in good discussions. It could happen in the next few days," said the Red Devils' sporting director Markus Schupp. Despite Kacper Przybylko's opening day double against MSV Duisburg, the Fritz-Walter-Stadion side are keen to add to their front line - especially after Philipp Hofmann's departure to Brentford and Jon Dadi Bödvarsson not joining until January 1st.

Müller staying put

One player who definitely won't be leaving the club is goalkeeper Marius Müller. The 22-year-old has spent the last 12 years at Kaiserslautern and the bosses are said to have rejected a €3m offer from Eintracht Franfkurt for his services. Müller recently took over the number one spot from Tobias Sippel and is under contract until 2017, and head coach Kosta Runjaic will most likely be keen to extend that to ward off further interest.
