Eintracht Frankfurt welcome FC Augsburg to the Commerzbank Arena for die Adler's first home game of the season, as both sides look for their first three points of the season.

Eintracht Frankfurt team news

The hosts will be relatively unchanged from the side defeated 2-1 at the Volkswagen Arena against VfL Wolfsburg last weekend, with no new injury concerns. However die Adler will still be without Sonny Kittel, Bamba Anderson, Marc Stendera and last season's torjager kanone, Alexander Meier.

Summer signing David Abraham is expected to continue to partner Carlos Zambrano at the heart of defence, whilst another summer arrival, Luc Castaignos, should also start once more supporting Haris Seferovic in attack. Goal scorer last weekend, Stefan Reinartz, (another new arrival) will occupy a defensive midfield role for the hosts.

Predicted line-up: Hradecky; Hasebe, Abraham, Zambrano, Oczipka; Inui, Russ, Reinartz, Aigner; Castaignos, Seferovic.

FC Augsburg team news

Saturday's match marks the first game since Abdul Rahman Baba left for English champions, Chelsea FC. Although the Ghanaian hadn't featured in the home loss to Hertha BSC he will prove to be a big miss for Markus Weinzierl's side.

Die Fuggerstädter will be without a plethora of first team players. Tim Matavz, Daniel Opare, Piotr Trochowski and Shawn Parker will all be missing through injury problems, whilst Raul Bobadilla is absent due to suspension. Sascha Mölders is widely expected to occupy Bobadilla's striker position, with the trio of Alexander Esswein, Halil Altintop and Tobias Werner behind him.

Predicted line-up: Hitz; Verhaegh, Hong, Klavan, Feulner; Baier, Kohr; Altintop, Werner, Esswein; Mölders.

Form

It wasn't the best start for either side, both losing their opening Bundesliga game of the season however in albeit very different circumstances.

Eintracht Frankfurt were dispatched, despite a spirited performance, 2-1 away to VfL Wolfsburg; courtesy of goals from Ivan Perisic and Bas Dost. It's now 23 games since any side won at the Volkswagen Arena and it would be safe to say that die Adler weren't expected to claim the opening day three points. In the DFB-Pokal the weekend before, Armin Veh's side were victorious defeating Bremer SV 3-0.

For Markus Weinzierl's men a home game against Hertha BSC looked like a routine three points, but it wasn't the case and Pál Dárdai's die Alte Dame walked away with a hard-fought opening day win. Raul Bobadilla's red card didn't help die Fuggerstädter, mind. FC Augsburg do however have a win to their name this season having won their DFB-Pokal first round clash against SV Elversberg, although extra time was required.

Previous meetings

Last season Markus Weinzierl's side had the better of their Frankfurt counterparts, with an FC Augsburg win and a 2-2 draw the results between the two. A second half Raul Bobadilla strike was enough to claim all three points in the same fixture last season, whilst second half Stefan Aigner and Alexander Meier goals salvaged a point for die Adler in Schwabian Bavaria.
