Borussia Dortmund secured their second 4-0 victory of the season, bringing newly-promoted FC Ingolstadt 04 back to earth with a hefty bump.

Both coaches change starting XI's

Thomas Tuchel and Ralph Hasenhüttl both made changes to the side's that won in the first game of the season. Borussia Dortmund's coach replaced Roman Weidenfeller, Gonzalo Castro, Kevin Kampl and Sven Bender by Roman Bürki, Neven Subotic, Julian Weigl and Marco Reus. Reus was given a break in the Europa League qualifier match against Norwegian side Odds BK, and didn't even travel with his team mates to Norway.

Ingolstadt's manager surprisingly replaced 'keeper Ramazan Özcan surprisingly by Norwegian Ørjan Nyland, who joined the Schanzer from Molde FK this summer. Furthermore, Romain Brégerie, who joined Ingolstadt from Darmstadt 98, came in for captain Marvin Matip.

Dortmund dominating

The Schwarzgelben had their first chance when Marcel Schmelzer centred a ball in the middle of the box, where Marco Reus missed the target by a few centimetres after six minutes. The fans in the stadium in Ingolstadt saw nearly the same situation nine minutes later, when Aubameyang couldn't score the opener after a good cross by Schmelzer from the left side.

The best opportunity for Tuchel's team was created when Ilkay Gündogan ran through the whole Ingolstadt half but missed the perfect moment to pass the ball to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who would have been been free to shoot on goal.

A few cries of joy were heard when Aubameyang passed to Reus, who marched into the box and shot from a difficult angle. He missed the target by an inch mid-way through the half.

Just after the half hour there was no noteworthy chance for the hosts, but BVB's Bürki had to get out of his goal to clear a long ball just outside his box before Lukas Hinterseer could get to it.

The rest of the first half was dominated by many time-outs due to injuries, it was a hard-fought game. Referee Christian Dingert gave five yellow cards in total in the first half, three for the Schwarzgelben and two for the Schanzer

Four goals in the second half

The beginning of the first-half seemed promising for Ingolstadt as they created chances, but couldn't quite trouble the Dortmund. However, the deadlock was finally broken after 55 minutes. Right-back Matthias Ginter got the ball in the Ingolstadt box and hit the target to score the deserved opener.

Only five minutes later, Marcel Schmelzer was fouled by Robert Hartmann in the box and referee Dingert blew his whistle. Marco Reus stepped up and made it 2-0 from the spot, putting daylight between the sides.

After 75 minutes, Ingolstadt's goalkeeper Nyland showed good reflexes when he stopped a strong shot from Reus and a decent header from Hummels within a quick succession.

Shinji Kagawa scored the third goal for the Schwarzgelben put it beyond any doubt late on, shooting his team to the top of the Bundesliga table. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang added gloss to the result after a mistake by Marvin Matip and made it 4-0.

Borussia Dortmund will be playing against Hertha BSC on matchday three at the Signal Iduna Park on Sunday. For FC Ingolstadt, a trip to neighbours FC Augsburg is next.
