Inter Milan have confirmed the arrival of VfL Wolfsburg winger Ivan Perisic on a five-year deal. The transfer fee remains undisclosed by both clubs although kicker report that the Serie A side have paid around €20m for his services.

Is Perisic the final piece of summer business?

The move is part of Inter's huge summer spending spree, which has seen Geoffrey KondogbiaJeison MurilloDavide SantonStevan Jovetic, Miranda, Martin Montoya and now Perisic join the San Siro side. That hasn't come without cost, however. Mateo Kovacic was reportedly sold to Real Madrid to ensure the club complied with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Perisic enjoyed a successful spell with the Volkswagen Arena side after joining from Borussia Dortmund back in 2013. Some spectacular performances quickly installed him as a fan favourite and helped the Wolves claim their first ever DFB-Pokal trophy last season against his old club. In 88 games he netted 21 goals and 17 goals under Dieter Hecking's tutelage.

A busy few days ahead for Wolfsburg

"The situation took a short-notice change," said sporting director Klaus Allofs. He was keen to make the "solution the best one" for everyone involved and that involved the Croatian international departing the club. Allofs has been a busy man recently after the sale of Kevin de Bruyne and looks set to be even more active with deals for Dennis Praet and Julian Draxler said to be close. He then wished Perisic all the best for the future.

Perisic himself spoke to the Wolfsburg club website and thanked them for helping him make his move to Italy possible. "I had a wonderful and successful time at VfL Wolfsburg. I wish the team continued success," he said. According to kicker, Wolfsburg have already brought in talented-teen Ismail Azzaoui from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee believed to be around €1m. Whether he will get any first-team action remains to be seen.
