Aaron Hunt, Hamburger SV's last-minute signing from VfL Wolfsburg, has scored in a friendly against 3. Liga side VfL Osnabrück. The German contributed the second goal in die Rothosen's 4-1 victory.

The other three goals for HSV were scored by Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Nicolai Müller and Batuhan Altintas

"He is a really good player"

"He showed that he is a really good player," said Hamburg's head coach Bruno Labbadia after the match. Labbadia switched Hunt's position at half time - In the first half, the former Werder Bremen player acted as attacking midfielder while he played as deep-lying playmaker in the second half.

"These are the two positions I would like to play," said Hunt. He furthermore adds that: "the test match was good because it helped me to understand the system that Hamburg plays. Every match helps me to find my form and rhythm."

Lack of match practise

Hunt has no problems with his fitness, as he completed the pre-season with VfL Wolfsburg. The 28-year-old certainly lacked match practise, as he didn't play a single minute for the Wölfe in the first three matches.

A long time at HSV rivals Werder Bremen

Hunt played for local clubs VfL Oker and Goslarer SC 08 before he moved to the youth of Werder Bremen in 2001. He played for the Grünweißen until his contract ended in summer 2014. He then moved to league rivals Wolfsburg, where he played with the number 10. But due to the opposition having Kevin de BruyneMaximilian Arnold and Joshua Guilavogui, Hunt couldn't quite establish himself at the Volkswagen Arena, only making 17 appearances, mostly as a substitute. He contributed two goals to the Wölfe attack.

A worriless campaign?

Hamburg started their campaign with a 5-0 defeat away to Bayern Munich, winning their second game 3-2 against VfB Stuttgart. HSV travelled to the RheinEnergieStadion where they took the lead against 1. FC Köln, before losing to two late goals.
