A brace from Marc Stendera was enough to secure all three points for Eintracht Frankfurt against Hannover 96.

Hannover's Michael Frontzeck made two changes to his side following the controversial victory over 1. FC Köln last weekend. Oliver Sorg and Kenan Karaman were replaced by Hiroki Sakai and Felix Klaus. Armin Veh opted for four alterations after the drubbing against Gladbach a week previous, with David Abraham, Aleksander Ignjovski, Johannes Flum and Luc Castaignos dropped for Carlos Zambrano, Constant Djakpa, Makoto Hasebe and Stefan Aigner.

After what could be described only as a first-half to forget, both sides went in level at the break. Neither created any chances of note and a total of one shot on target between the two teams told the tale of the game. Hiroshi Kiyotake's free-kick was the closest either came to scoring, and even then it was wildly off target.

The game finally bursts into life

The half-time break, seemingly, did both sides the world of good but especially Hannover. Klaus was on hand to finish off a fantastic run from Kiyotake, who set him free on goal. He slipped as he shot though that was a blessing in disguise, as it lifted the ball over the committed Lukas Hradecky and into the far corner.

That joy was to be short-lived and a goal that needed no luck brought the game level again. A ball forward towards Aigner was headed down by the attacker into Marc Stendera's path. The talented midfielder sold two players with a pair of dummies, before firing the ball into the bottom corner with deadly accuracy.

It was almost a carbon copy for the second goal, too. Another long ball forward from Bastian Oczipka found the free Aigner, who managed to get the ball to Stendera once more. He knocked the ball past one Hannover defender before rifling the ball into the near post area before Ron-Robert Zieler could react. Neither side could add to their tally, and Armin Veh's men finally picked up their first win in five.
