Eintracht Frankfurt were thwarted on several occasions by Oliver Baumann, as Hoffenheim came away with a valuable point on Saturday afternoon. There was also debate over a penalty that wasn't given the way of the Eagles, who should have came away with all three points.

Baumann the hero

Despite Kevin Kuranyi going close early on, Frankfurt laid siege to the home goal for the majority of the first half. Marc Stendera, Alexander Meier and Haris Seferovic were all denied by Oliver Baumann on multiple occasions. Stefan Aigner also thought he'd opened the scoring towards the end of the period, but saw his effort chalked off for offside.

Kuranyi was stopped by Lukas Hradecky and Aleksander Ignjovski had an effort cleared off the line. What followed greatly frustrated the visitors, as they were denied a clear penalty. Jin-Su Kim charged into Makoto Hasebe, but Knut Kircher - who gave a debatable penalty for Bayern Munich against FC Augsburg earlier in the season - opted to wave play on.

Frankfurt not clinical enough

After the break Frankfurt continued to pressure the home defence, but couldn't quite find a way through. After a good move down the left Ignjovski blazed over, much to the dismay of the visiting fans. It was becoming a real backs to the wall job for the home side, and the encouragement of a packed Rhein-Neckar-Arena was giving them plenty of encouragement.

Marc Stendera's free-kick was well saved by Baumann, as the game came into the closing stages. Another set of saves kept the troublesome Aigner out, and the game ended goal-less. Hoffenheim's torrid recent run continued, a fifth consecutive game without a win and a third without a goal. Frankfurt, however, continue to make good progress this season. Armin Veh's men will be keen to start picking up more points, especially in games like these where they dominate.
