Hertha BSC have confirmed that Sinan Kurt has completed his move to the capital. The now former Bayern Munich attacker joins with immediate effect and has signed a deal through to 2019.

A lack of opportunities

Kurt is on the move in a bid to get more first-team opportunities than are currently available at Bayern, especially after Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman came in and hit the ground running this season. Just one appearance over two years, despite his youth, is rather disappointing when taking into account the Bundesliga champions' rotten luck when it comes to injuries.

The 19-year-old has spent this campaign with the Regionalliga side, scoring just once in 15 games. He is yet to show the incredible form that earned him the acclaim that caused such an uproar regarding his move from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The two clubs were at loggerheads for what seemed to be a never-ending spell, but eventually a deal with done - somewhere around €1m - to bring him to Bavaria.

Can he recapture his Foals' form?

So far, even with Bayern's A-Junioren Bundesliga Süd/Südwest side, he has failed to reproduce the numbers he was putting up in Westfalen. He will, however, be hoping that his versatility can secure him a place in the Hertha squad on a regular basis. Comfortable behind the striker, or on either wing, Kurt can provide creativity and a spark from the bench to maintain Hertha's current high-flying position in the table.

The likelihood of the capital club doing much business seems low during this transfer window, and only fringe players should be departing. This could be a deal that proves fruitful for all parties, as a result.
