Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer claimed yet another award for his impressive performances, as he was voted the World Goalkeeper of the Year

Typical season for Neuer

It has been another dominant season for the German 'keeper this year, as he was at the heart of Bayern Munich's solid defence. Bayern and Neuer have only allowed eight goals in the Bundesliga this campaign, as the Bavarians look set to run away with the league once again.

Bayern have their inconsistencies at the back but Neuer is usually there to clean up the mess. The sweeper-keeper has been a dominant force for Bayern Munich yet again and will look for them to win even more trophies as a team this year, with a Champions League triumph in their sights. He will be hoping that Germany can claim their second major tournament in a row at the European Championships this summer, after they won the World Cup two years ago.

He has also produced some special moments in the Champions League, the most memorable coming against Arsenal in the Emirates. Arsenal forward Theo Walcott seemed to have a free header right in front of goal coming off a cross; however, Neuer was able to run from his near post to the middle of the goal and stick out his left hand to deny the England international. It was a save that many will remember for a long time.

The voting wasn't even close

Neuer finished ahead of second placed Gianluigi Buffon from Juventus and Barcelona's Claudio Bravo in third.

A trio of Premier League stoppers - David De GeaThibaut Courtois, and Petr Cech - were followed by Marcelo Barovero, Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Iker Casillas and Daniel Subasic, who rounded off the top 10. However, the votes between Neuer and the rest weren't even close.

He received 188 points as the winner compared to Buffon, who received only 45 points.
